By iWontSTFU On January 7, 2010 No Comments

I’ve been a fan of Robin Thicke since his release of “Lost Without You”. The album “The Evolution of Robin Thicke” was definitely an album I played countless times.

Review: Alicia Keys – The Element Of Freedom (Deluxe Edition)

By iWontSTFU On December 12, 2009 1 Comment

Alicia Keys is releasing her 4th studio album on December 15th. She promised us that this the album is going to be her most personal (doesn’t every artist say that?) and then some may be surprised about the sound. So let’s see if this album is another classic or rather “The Element of Boredom”.

Love Is Blind

This song is totally different to what she’s done before and I love it. She uses her voice in a unusual way but it’s definitely interesting.

Doesn’t Mean Anything

The first single which could easily be a leftover from the “As I Am” era or a recycled “If I Ain’t Got U”.

Review: Lady GaGa – The Fame Monster (+ Booklet Pictures)

The Fame Monster
Initially meant to be a re-release “The Fame Monster” is now also being released as an entire album after Lady GaGa herself fought for it as she wouldn’t her fans to buy “The Fame” twice.

When Lady GaGa came out back in April 2008 I fell in love with her unique style and her danceable pop songs. I couldn’t wait for “The Fame” to be released which happened a few months later. It was a great album especially for debut album. So the question was is she able to produce hot new tracks without being too repetitive? Oh, yeah she was.

Bad Romance
The first single is just as hot as its video. I love it (‘cause I’m a free bitch baby).

BET Reviews Whitney Houston’s Listening Party

By iWontSTFU On July 22, 2009 2 Comments

Clive Davis hosted a listening party for Whitney Houston’s comeback album “I Look To You” in New York City yesterday. Among the listeners were Alicia Keys, Monica, Swizz Beats, LA Reid and of course Whitney herself. 9 songs were played and received good feedback.

1. “Million Dollar Bill” (written and produced by Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats)

An up-tempo, joyful track about love and probably one of the funkiest songs Whitney has ever done. “Million Dollar Bill” has an amazing bass line and almost recalls early Michael Jackson in Off The Wall. The catchy hook, “You make me feel like a million dollar bill.” Her vocal is strong with some power notes toward the end. The song has an Alicia Keys sound but fits for Whit — it’s current without making her seem like she is trying to compete with teenagers. The song received a standing ovation.

2. “Nothin’ But

Review on Beyoncé's Video "Sweet Dreams"

By iWontSTFU On July 19, 2009 No Comments

Finally, I’ve been able to see Beyoncé’s new single “Sweet Dreams” in HQ so that I can form my opinion on it.
If you haven’t seen it yet…shame on you. Nah, just kidding but you could watch it now:

The video starts great. Beyoncé is sleeping having a dream/nightmare and the music is dramatic which really fits the theme since everything looks dark. GREAT! I love it.
Then a scream let’s the performance begin. As always Beyoncé delivers a great show with a few different scenes. The end is my personal favorite: TURN THE LIGHTS OUT!

I still have not been able to figure out why she couldn’t create the video as the intro which is amazing giving you the feeling to watch a movie. However, Beyoncé has never been a big story teller in her videos. Which is surprising since she aspires to win an Oscar, just saying.Click here to continue reading
