RapUp's Most Anticipated Albums…and my opinion.
I don’t know if you have already seen it but RapUp posted and article called 10 MOST ANTICIPATED ALBUMS OF 2010.
When I was on twitter reading the headline I was like “Errrm. Are they even 10 albums that I can’t wait to listen to?”.
Well, let’s just have a short look:
- Usher – Raymond vs. Raymond
- The-Dream – Love King
- Lupe Fiasco – Lasers
- Erykah Badu – New Amerykah Part II: Return of the Ankh
- Young Jeezy – Thug Motivation 103
- Game – The R.E.D. Album
- Ciara – Untitled
- Eminem – Relapse 2
- Nas & Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley – Distant Relatives
- Drake – Thank Me Later
Let’s go through them.
Usher…I am close to really disliking him. “Here I Stand” was a snooze fest and it doesn’t look like the divorce-influenced titled album “Raymond vs. Raymond” will be different. Besides the way he acts now when it is about the woman who gave birth to his children makes me sick.
The-Dream…I must admit that I actually listened quite often to “Love vs Money”. But I blame the boring music bizz in the first quarter of the year.
Lupe Fiasco…He’s a good rapper but he didn’t really make me go and say “Hey, I GOTTA listen to his songs”. Something’s missing…
Erykah Badu…Just a talented singer. Might check this one out.
Young Jeezy…he’s more like a rapper that can do guest collabo’s really well. lol
Game…Naw thanks. I liked his first album tho.
Ciara…This is going to be interesting. Another flop would probably be the end of Ciara’s career. I hope she will return to her good days with songs such as Like A Boy, Promise, 1,2 Step etc.
Eminem…I used to love him back when “The Eminem Show” was the shit but he got worse over the years. He murked everyone on Drake’s “Forever” though!
Nas & Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley…Sounds like an interesting cooperation. They need a good single to make me check them out.
Drake…I’m actually so not anticipating his debut CD. In fact I can’t wait until he leaves the spotlight. Him “rapping” is so annoying. He sounds like he wants to be like Lil Wayne but he doesn’t have the swagger for that. He might just sing for God’s sake…or better just go back to acting. Thanks.
So overall there isn’t really anybody who I am dying to hear (again). Sadly. The most anticipated album for me is actually Sade’s new one. If it’s as good as the first single “Soldier Of Love” I’ll be fine.
