Review: Good Morning Milo – Through The Chaos & Clatter
When I for the first time started playing the album I thought “Pick Up Lines” was a never ending instrumental intro which is somewhat true even though to be fair: it’s only 1:20 minutes long and if you think about it the thing that there are no spoken words leads us listeners to being able to interpret differently. I came up with two different versions: 1. I’ve been waiting for vocals but I never got them. Well, this happens to the most of us: you see a cute girl/guy and are secretly hoping this person would make an attempt to approach you. Because of shyness it might never happen which is why there’s silence. 2. Bad pickup lines are the worst thing on earth. So maybe sometimes it’s better just to shut your mouth and let other things speak…
Alright, I talked quite a lot about “Pickup Lines” but there are 13 other tracks on the album to be discussed.
The next highlight on the album is in my opinion “Kill A Songbird” as it stands out due to a more aggressive vibe.
“Number One Killer” is also a song worth to mention which has a great instrumental. However the front man’s vocal shine every now and then as well.
I personally like the song “Engaged”. In this up-tempo some he apologizes for causing a scene. Nice track.
“Mr. Robot Man“ is also one of the more interesting songs. Especially since the beginning is remarkably different.
The ending song “Sunshine” is a beautiful ballad with nice harmonies.
Overall the album is listenable but I definitely miss something special although vocals and instruments are ok for most of the time.
